يسعى البحث إلى بيان الفرق بين مصطلحات الرتبة والتقديم والتأخير من خلال حديث سيبويه عنها في كتابه ، وأثر ذلك على تحديده لأنماط الجملة في العربية ، وتأثير ذلك على من جاء بعده من النحاة ، وبخاصة ابن جني وعبد القاهر الجرجاني ، وتناولهم لبعض القضايا طبقا لتحديد مفهوم المصطلحات ، وبيان اللبس في معنى التقديم والتأخير عند بعض مفسري القرآن الكريم ، ثم عرض بعض القضايا النحوية التي يمكن معالجتها من خلال التقديم والتأخير بين عناصر الجملة .
The research seeks to clarify the difference between the terms position, precedence, and delay through Sibawayh’s discussion of them in his book, and the impact of that on his definition of the two sentence patterns in Arabic, and the impact of that on the grammarians who came after him, especially Ibn Jinni and Abdul Qahir al-Jurjani, and their treatment of some issues in accordance with these two concepts. Explaining the ambiguity in the meaning of precedence and delay according to some interpreters of the Holy Qur’an, then presenting some grammatical issues that can be addressed through precedence and delay between sentence elements.
